Position Summary:

The Tommy Hilfiger Archive Temp will be responsible for supporting the Senior Brand Archivist in maintaining best archival practices for all physical, digital, and social historical archival assets. This person will complete various short- and long-term projects supporting the day-to-day operations and transactions of the Tommy Hilfiger Archive. The Archive Temp will report to the Brand Historian and Senior Archivist.

Primary Responsibilities / Accountabilities of the Job:

  • Ongoing physical collections management and transactional Archive duties including loans, asset delivery, and brand history research

  • Aid in the production of Tommy Hilfiger Archive programming and content

  • Preservation, protection, and promotion of the brand’s heritage will at all times support PVH Corp.’s initiatives in addition to the brand’s directives

  • Assist in larger PVH Corp. and PVH Archives programming, content, and initiatives as deemed appropriate.

In addition to other responsibilities, core duties will be to:

  • Host and co-host tours and research appointments for Tommy Hilfiger Archive guests and in support of general PVH Archives visits

  • Prep and track loans and coordinate their return and rehousing

  • Assist in the sourcing and procurement of Archive acquisitions and brand material.

  • Support the development of Tommy Hilfiger Archive content for PVH Archives initiatives

  • Maintain the organization and archival environment of the physical Tommy Hilfiger Archive space as well as the digital user experience.

Qualifications and Experience:

Experience:

  • 1 year of experience in a fashion office, archive, collections management, museum, or textile conservation work environment.

  • Experience working with historic or educational textiles and/or fashion objects.

  • Object handling experience and experience with digital asset management systems.

Education:

  • M.A. in fashion studies, fashion history, library science, archival practices, or other related field or an equivalent amount of professional experience and training.

Skills:

  • Object handling with a focus on clothing and textiles and related objects.

  • Knowledge and nuanced understanding of fashion history and current fashion industry.

  • Ability to complete a variety of short and long-term projects including object processing, collection management, metadata enhancement, and time sensitive loan procedures.

  • This is a part time in person position.

Pay Range:$25.00 - $30.00

PVH currently provides base salary ranges for all positions-on job advertisements-in the United States based on local requirements. These ranges are based on what PVH reasonably believes that it will pay an associate for their base salary for said position at the time of the posting. Individual compensation will ultimately be determined based on a variety of relevant factors including but-not limited to qualifications, geographic location and other relevant skills.
